How do you know that you are really pregnant?

The most basic way to detect if you are pregnant is via your urine. This is the test you find in the pregnancy testing kit you find in drug stores. It detects the protein and hormones in your urine.

Blood pregnancy test is the most reliable and sensitive test. Radioimmuniassay (RIA) or beta subunit HCG is the basic type of blood pregnancy test. Often this test is used if there is suspicion of pregnancy complication such as tubal pregnancy.

Pelvic exams are conducted by O&G specialist to confirm if you are pregnant. The physician will insert two fingers into your vagina while the other hand presses the lower abdomen. This test is used to ascertain the size of your uterus, tibes and ovaries.
